We may have already seen a few of UBISoft’s titles unveiled during the Xbox conference the other day, but there were still a good few tricks up their sleeves over the course of their show at E3. Dancing pandas, live bands, toys to life spaceships and even an appearance from Miyamoto-san were just some of the highlights of yet another crazy UBI E3 showing.
Check out all the announcement trailers below:
Beyond Good and Evil 2
What a stunning way to open your show (dancing pandas and brass band aside for Just Dance). We saw a glimpse of what was in store last year, but this was a whole new level of beauty and destruction. Not only that, to reveal that trailer end left even more questions to be answered.
This was a strange choice of showing at the conference. Not so much a game, more a documentary into the minds and lives of the eSports teams involved in Rainbow 6. It felt a bit flat after the huge BGE2 reveal.
Oh. Yeah. This looks a HUGE amount of fun. Multiple racers. Crazy tracks. Mental explosions and environments. Tricks, ramps, tumbles, turns, broken bones. This had a little bit of everything and looks to be 100% pure unadulterated fun. Coming Feb 2019 with a closed beta sign up available at trialsgame.com
The Division 2
We had already witnessed some of the gameplay of The Division 2 in the Xbox Conference, but UBISoft gave us a little bit more of the backstory to this next chapter. Set in Washington DC, the snowdrop engine is creating an incredible game world. Not only that, but UBISoft confirmed 8 player raids coming too. It’s everything The Divison was and bigger. Due out March 15 2019, you can sign up for the beta now at https://tomclancy-thedivision.ubisoft.com/game/en-gb/beta
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Donkey Kong Adventure
This was all just a little bit too self-indulgent for our liking. Showcasing the trailer with a live band playing along. It went on for far longer than was really necessary. But you know what, people love those damn Rabbids, especially when they’re tied in with Nintendo.
Skull and Bones
A grown up Sea of Thieves. Beat for beat it may be a very similar game, but oh so very different looking. Take all the best bits of the sailing from Assassin’s Creed Black Flag and dial them up to 11 and you’ll have Skull and Bones. It looks incredible, it looks like it has huge scope for PvE, PvP, and combined PvE team-ups. Long Live Piracy!
Plunge into the experiment of a troubled scientist, a corrupted digital simulation of his family formed using their collective brain data. Shift between the three perspectives of a family and unravel the mystery hiding in this mind-bending psychological thriller. All kinds of spooky, creepy, FMV, psychological horror puzzle game. It looks very disturbing, very story driven, very much left of field. Available October this year!
Starlink: Battle for Atlas
UBISoft revealed this one briefly at last year’s E3 if we remember right. Just when you thought the Toys to Life world of gaming was dead, we get a starship fighter where you build your arsenal around your own ships. Beautifully crafted models, as they always are with these things. To top it all off, Switch owners get a Starfox exclusive version which just looks AMAZING! Coming Fall 2018
For Honor: Marching Fire and Breach Mode
A game that passed us by here at Gamer Tagged, mainly because it’s just too technical a fighter for our ill equipped skills. For Honor has garnered a huge audience of fighting specialists and with it UBISoft have announced the latest additions with new warriors and a new Breach mode where opponents get to storm your castle. Yet another incredible looking game.
The Crew 2
The Crew really was quite a big disappointment. The Crew 2 trailer alone gives us hope that this will wash away the bad taste of the original. Looks like there’s going to be a huge amount of scope for the way you want to race and how you want to race. Planes, speed boats, cars, bikes… this had a little bit of everything. Not only that, but you can pre-download the open beta which kicks off from June 21
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
If you thought Origins was big… woah boy, this looks like taking that to a whole new level. All of Greece to explore on foot, on horse, on the sea. Two protagonists, a more RPG like game with narrative choices available. The Assassin’s Creed series just continues to grow in scope and scale. We don’t have long to wait either, it’ll be here on October 5th.
And with that, UBISoft closed out their conference. It had big hits, it had crazyness, it had some unnecessary filler. But that filler was forgiveable given just how many big hits they pulled out. The only person missing was Sam Fisher… but maybe next time!
